OAKVILLE- Mrs. Jacqueline J. (LaChance) Gentil, 75, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at Apple Rehab in Watertown. She was the wife of George C. Gentil of Oakville.

Mrs. Gentil was born in Waterbury, CT on December 9, 1942, the daughter of the late Joseph and Theresa (Dionne) LaChance. Jackie was a retiree of Litton Industries and she enjoyed visiting family and friends and spending most of her time with her grandkids. Her favorite past times were listening to music and watching a good thriller. Jackie was a strong and selfless woman. She did everything for everyone and expected nothing in return. She will be remembered for her kindness to her family and others and most of all, her feline friends. She will be sadly missed by all who were blessed to know and love her. She was a parishioner of St. Mary Magdalen Church.

Besides her husband, Jackie is survived by her sons, George J. Gentil and his wife, Cheryl of Oakville, Guy W. Gentil and his wife, Patricia of Watertown, her grandsons, Michael and Nicholas Gentil of Oakville and her granddaughter, Lauren Gentil and grandson, Zachary Gentil both of Watertown. She also leaves behind a brother, Joseph LaChance and his wife, Patricia of Oakville, a niece, Lisa Ciarlo and her husband, Tom, nephews, Stephan LaChance, John LaChance and his wife, Lisa, Mark LaChance and his wife, Marie-Alana, as well as several grand nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services for Mrs. Gentil will be held on Friday May 11, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary Magdalen, Church, Buckingham Street, Oakville . Those planning to attend are kindly asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Watertown. Relatives and friends may visit with Jackie’s family on Thursday, May 10, 2018 from 5:00pm until 7:00pm at the Oneill Funeral Home 742 Main St Oakville CT 06779.
