THE CASEY FAMILY IS HONORED TO BE ASSISTING AND CARING FOR THE FAMILY WANDA WITTY

Wanda Rose Witty (Pazdan), 94, passed away peacefully at her home on June 11, 2018. She was the widow of Lt Col Robert Witty.

Known as Buddy to her family and high school friends, she was born in June 1924, she was the youngest child of Michael and Rosalie (Floryan) Pazdan and lived her entire life in Oakville. She graduated from Watertown High School where she played basketball and was active in many school organizations. She married Robert when he was stationed at Fort Smith, AK at the end of WWII. After raising her three daughters, Wanda became an administrative assistant at Winchester Electronics until her retirement in 1989. After retirement, she enjoyed vacations and daytrips with her high school girlfriends, attending her grandchildren’s athletic events, and summer vacations on Martha’s Vineyard. She was active in the Watertown Democratic Women, Friends of the Library, and the Watertown Garden Club. Wanda will be remembered for her cheerfulness and easygoing disposition, and always giving loving support to her family and friends.

Wanda is survived by her three daughters, Marcia Riddick (Douglas) of Archdale, NC, Jane
McDermott (Vincent) of Indialantic, FL and Bethlehem, CT, and Roberta Witty of Litchfield; by
her four grandchildren, Eric Riddick of Archdale, NC, Adrea Riddick of High Point, NC, Mat
McDermott (Joanna) of New York City, and Mark McDermott (Rebecca) of Indialantic, FL; and
by two greatgrandchildren, Caroline McDermott and Oliver McDermott. She is also survived by
two sisters, Mary Ostrowski of Plainville, and Helen Majewski of Waterbury, and by numerous
nieces and nephews. Wanda was predeceased by her brothers, Michael and Frank, and by her sisters, Anna Fiftal, Julia Fiftal, and Josephine Palmoski.

Wanda’s family would like to thank Indi Ameyaw, Adwoa Adu, and Doris Mantey who provided
the expert and loving care that allowed her to live in dignity in her own home for the past three
years. We are truly grateful.
