Obituary for Sarah Avitabile

THE CASEY FAMILY IS HONORED TO BE ASSISTING AND CARING FOR THE FAMILY OF SARAH AVITABIILE

WOLCOTT – Sarah Avitabile, age 82 formerly of Waterbury, passed away peacefully on Friday May 18th 2018 at Wolcott View Manor Nursing Home after an extended illness.

Sarah was born October 9th 1935 in Waterbury, CT, the daughter of the late Vincent and Jennie (Candoloro) Avitabile. She was a graduate of Crosby High School and attended Post University. Sarah spent several years working as a bookkeeper at Waterbury National Bank and later was a sales clerk at Grandway on Thomaston Ave. Sarah enjoyed reading and spending time with her family, especially her nieces and nephews who she was very fond and proud of. Sarah will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know and love her.

Among her survivors are her brother, Alphonse Avitabile and his wife, Ruth of Bethlehem, her sister, Antoinette Weathers and her husband, Kenneth of Waterbury. In addition, she leaves her beloved nieces and nephews, Vincent, Nancy, Carla, Matthew, Neil and Edward. She also leaves several great nieces and nephews.


Funeral services and burial of Mrs. Avitabile will be held privately at the convenience of her family in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Watertown. There are no calling hours.
