The Casey family is honored to be assisting and caring for the family of Louis Tagney.

OAKVILLE - Louis T. Tangney, age 76 of Oakville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at Waterbury Hospital after a brief illness. He was the widower of Joyce (Goudreau) Tangney.
Louis was born September 28, 1941 in Waterbury CT, the son of the late John J. and Louise (Kurtz) Tangney. He spent many years as a tool maker at the former Isley Danaher Corporation in Plymouth until his retirement. Louis was a car enthusiast, enjoyed working on cars and camping. He was also an avid animal lover and adored his cats Snookums, Tootsie and Nicole and also enjoyed spending time at Savin Rock in West Haven where he would walk along the beach.
Among his survivors are sister in-laws Nancy Goudreau and her husband Donald of Naugatuck, Judy Belval and her husband George of Oakville, Jacquelyn Cutler of Waterbury, and his brother-in- law Jerry O’Connell in addition to several nieces, nephews, cousins: Kay Lymen and her husband Joe of Watertown, Michael Tangney of Waterbury, Joanne Brasche of Oakville, Maryanne Greenwood of Long Island and other extended family and friends. He was predeceased by his son John L. Tangney. Louis will be sadly missed by his loving family and all who knew and loved him.

The family would like to thank and acknowledge the staff at Waterbury Hospital for the loving and compassionate care they provided to Louis and his family during his stay.

Funeral services for Mr. Tangney will be held privately at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Watertown Fire Department at 935 Main St. Watertown CT 06795.
